Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana benefit Extension

Employees State Insurance Corporation has extended the benefit under Atal Beemat Vyakti Kalyan Yojana for another 2 year from 1st July, 2021 to 30th June, 2023.

Atal Beemat Vyakti Kalyan Yojana is a social security scheme issued by Employees State Insurance Corporation with effect from 01st July, 2018 for an initial period of 2 year for the benefit of employees covered under ESIC Act, 1948.

Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana Benefit Extension

Initially the benefit provided under the scheme is in the form of relief payment up to 90 days with 25% of the daily wages for unemployment. The employee covered under the ESIC Act, 1948 who should have been in insurable employment for a period of two year immediately before his/her unemployment.

The scheme was first extended for a period of one year from 01 July, 2020 to 30th June, 2021. Once again the scheme was extended for another 1 year from 01st July, 2021 to 30th June, 2022 and the eligibility condition also has been relaxed to some extend.

Now the person is eligible to get benefit under the scheme if the person should have been in insurable employment for a minimum period of 12 month immediately before his/her unemployment. And the minimum contribution for a period of 78 days or more during the period 12 month immediately before his/her unemployment.

The benefit of 25% of daily wages has also been extended to 50% of daily wages for a period of 90 days as per latest notification.

How to Apply for the benefit under Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana?

The relief under ABVKY shall due for payment after 30 days of unemployment and the eligible employee/worker can apply directly though the ESIC branch office by visiting personally.

The worker/employee may submit claim to get the relief by visiting official website along with submission of the below documents as supporting:

  • Self declaration Affidavit.
  • Aadhaar.
  • Bank Account proof.
  • Declaration from Last Employer for unemployment.

The above documents can be submitted via post if physical visit is not possible for the worker. However, for fast settlement of the claim it is recommended to visit ESIC branch office.
