E-Shram Card Registration Benefit and Procedures

What is E Shram Card?

E-Shram Card initiative has been taken by the Labour and Employment Minstry of Government of India for the benefit of unorganised workers in September, 2021. Every unorganized worker can get the E-shram card after successful registration on E-Shram portal introduced by the Government.

The registration procedure is simple which can be done by self or via nearest CSC Digital Seva Kendra/SSK/Selected post offices. There are 4 lakhs centers available across the country where unorganised worker get the the hassle free registration facilities.

An Universal Account Number (UAN) will be provided with each E-Shram card which will required the get the benefit entitled with the scheme.

What are the Benefit of E- Shram Card?

Following are the major benefits comes along with E-Shram Card that can be pointed out as below:

  • UAN on E-Shram card will be acceptable across the country.
  • Accidental Insurance Coverage though PMSBY scheme for 1st year.
  • Rs 2 lakh for accidental death and permanent disability and Rs 1 lakh for partial disability.
  • Social Security benefit for all registered unorganized workers.
  • In case of any pandemic or calamities like Covid-19 direct financial assistant will be provided by the Government to eligible unorganised workers.
  • Government will create employment opportunities for unorganised sector workers.

Who can Register for E- Shram Card?

Following are the eligibility criteria for E-Shram card registration is provided below:

  • The age of the person should be between 16 years to 59 years.
  • The person should not file income tax return.
  • He or she should not be a member of social security scheme like EPFO and ESIC.
  • The person should work in unorganised sector. A detail list of Occupation available in the E-shram portal.

  • Animal Husbandry workers.
  • Beedi rolling workers.
  • Weaver.
  • Carpenters.
  • Barbers.
  • Saw Mill workers.
  • Building and construction workers.
  • Vegetable and fruit vendors.
  • Auto Drivers.
  • Newspaper vendor.
  • Sericulture workers.
  • Street Vendors.
  • House maids.
  • Milk Pouring Farmers.
  • Migrant workers.
  • And other similar occupational workers.

Required Documents and data for E-Shram Card Registration

Following documents and data required for E-Shram Card Registration:

  • Aadhaar card or Aadhaar number.
  • Aadhaar card linked Mobile number for OTP verification.
  • Any Bank account details belongs to self.
  • Details regarding Marital Status.
  • Father Name.
  • Social Category like ST, SC, OBC and General.
  • Blood Group.
  • Nominee Details like name, DOB, Gender, relationship etc.
  • Address details.
  • Education Qualification details. (Certificate not required).
  • Income details. (Income proof not required).
  • Occupation and skill details about your work.
  • Work Training details if available.

How to do E-Shram Card Registration?

Following are the process flowchart for E-Shram Card Registration:

  • Visit the E-Shram Portal.
  • Click on the Register on E-Shram on the right side of the home page.
  • You will be landed to self registration page shown as below.

  • Provide Aadhaar linked mobile number and enter the captcha code.
  • Provide EPFO/ESIC declaration as NO and validate with OTP.
  • After validation of OTP provide your Aadhaar number in the next window and click on submit by clicking on I Agree button.

  • Again you will get a OTP then enter the OTP in next step and click on validate.
  • In next window you will see the details linked to your Aadhaar card like name, DOB. address gender details etc.
  • Again click on the I agree button and process with continue to enter other details.
  • You need to fill-up the Registration form by providing contact details, marital status, blood group, nominee details etc. and click on save and continue.
  • In next part of registration you need to provide your address details and then again click on save and continue.
  • After providing address details you are asked to provide your education and income details. No need to provide certificate as a proof and click on save and continue.
  • In next step you need to provide your occupation details like carpenter, beautician, street vendor etc. If you acquire formal training pertaining to your occupation you can upload the certificate if any.
  • At last you need to provide your bank account details and click on save and continue.
  • Finally your registration form fill-up will be done and all the details provided by you will be reflect in the next screen. Just check the details if every thing is ok then click on I understand and submit.
  • Your E-Shram card will be generated. You can download the same or print as per your requirement and click on

Registration Fee for E-Shram card?

There is no fee for E-Shram card registration. Unorganised sector workers can get the E-Shram card free of cost.
