Minimum Wages in Tripura has been revised by the Labour and Employment Department of the state with effect from 01st April, 2023.
On 16th June, 2023 Labour department of Tripura Published the official notification vide notification number F.22(74)-LAB/ENF/MW/SHOPS/2022/2972-97.
According to the notification the Average Consumer Price Index Number increased by 121 points that results in increase in Variable Dearness Allowance payable to the employees working under Shops and Establishment.

Minimum Wages in Tripura Notification w.e.f 01.10.2022
On 22nd November, 2022 Labour Department published its official notification vide notification number- F22(74)-LAB/ENF/MW/SHOPS/2022/7957-81 to increase the Minimum wages for the employees covered under Shops and Establishment.

Minimum Wages in Tripura Notification w.e.f 01.04.2022
Notification has been published by the Government of Tripura on 28th June, 2022 vide notification number: F.87(30)-LAB/ENF/MW/SHOPS/2002(A)/4721-38.
The Minimum wages has been revised for the employees working under all Shops and Establishment of the state.
The Average Consumer Price Index is 97 point for different categories of workers employed in Shops & Establishment which results in raise in VDA (Variable Dearness Allowance).

The overtime wages payable by the employer is double of the ordinary Minimum Wages payable Per Day. Maximum 2 Hour of overtime allowed per day as per law. Which should not exceed the weekly working our limit of 48 Hours.
Every employer requested to pay the Minimum Wages from its effective date to avoid Penalty. And every employer Mandatorily required take the registration Under the Tripura Shops and Establishment Act.
According to the notifications Skilled Category of Workman include Accountant, Welder, Fitter, Mechanic, Boring Machine Man, Head Mistry, Mistry, Radio Mechanic, Printer Mechanic, Dry Cleaner, Black Smith, Photographer, Clerk, Salesman, Compounder, Pharmacist, Cashier, Data Entry Operator etc.
Semi Skilled Category of Workman includes Weight-man, Hawker, Porter etc.
Unskilled Category of Workman includes Peon, Night Guard, Leader etc.
Following points applicable in terms of Minimum Wages in Tripura:
To calculate the daily Minimum wages of any worker the monthly wages should be divided by 26 days.
If any worker works for extra hours then the Minimum wages rate should be double for such overtime work.
