ESIC Implementation in Tripura effective from 1st October, 2021

Employee State Insurance corporation comes with a good news for Tripura. As ESIC has been implemented in various district in Tripura from 1st October, 2021.

Previously only in one district ESIC has been implemented that is West Tripura and ESIC dispensary located in Agartala. In no other district ESIC facilities has been provided by the corporation.

Now Employee State Insurance corporation has implemented in various district of the state of Tripura effective from 1st October, 2021 onward. And employees working in such district can avail the medical facilities seamlessly.

ESIC newly implemented district in Tripura were provided below:

  • Dhalai.
  • Gomati.
  • North Tripura.
  • Sepahijala.

Short brief About ESIC Social Security Scheme

Employee State Insurance Corporation is a premier organization that provide social security benefits in the form of medical benefits and cash benefits in the contingencies of Sickness, Temporary Disablement, Maternity, Disablement or death due to employment injury, funeral, confinement, pension in case of loss of life in duty, medical care to retired insured person and so on.

Every employee of the organization covered under the ESIC whose monthly gross salary is less then or equal to 21000 rupees eligible to get the benefits under the ESIC social security scheme.

Under the ESIC social security scheme, not only the ensured person but the family members including parents, spouse and children also get the medical benefits followed by some condition as per the provision of the ESIC Act, 1948.

To get the benefit under ESIC scheme every employee need to contribute 0.75% (w.e.f. 01.07. 2019) of his monthly gross salary. And the employer or company also required to contribute 3.25% (w.e.f. 01.07. 2019) of the monthly gross salary of the employee to the ESIC scheme and it is mandatory to contribute for both employee and employer as per the provision of the ESIC Act, 1948.
