Latest Minimum Wages in Jammu and Kashmir updated in October, 2022

Minimum Wages in Jammu and Kashmir has been revised by the Labour and Employment Department of the state with effect from 17th October, 2022.

The official notification has been published vide notification number: LE-Genl/56/2022-11-L&E dated 12th October, 2022.

Commissioner / Secretary to Govt., Labour & Employment Department Ms Sarita Chauhan (IAS) has brought the good news for employees working under different Schedule Employment in the snowy Heaven J&K.

The Jammu & Kashmir Minimum Wages Notification (Oct 2022)

To calculate the Minimum Wages Daily wages required to be multiplied by 26 days.

The official notification further explain the 45 different Categories of Schedule employment of the state in Annexure A, Part I and different working class in Agricultural Sector in Part II.

In Part B of the Annexure, the Labour and Employment department further clarifies the Definition of Unskilled, Semi-skilled, skilled and High skilled employee.

  1. Unskilled work refers to work that required no skill or experience to perform the job and which involves simple operation.
  2. Semi-skilled works refers to the work that requires skills or competence acquired through experience on the job.
  3. Skilled works means the work which involves skill or competence acquired through experience on the job or acquired through training as an apprentice in a formal organization or vocational institute.
  4. Highly skilled works refer to the work which requires degree of perfection and competence to perform specific task and the employee is fully responsible for the work he or she perform.
