EPFO has enable its subscriber to transfer PF balance online at the time of changing job from one company to another. In this article I am going to provide you all necessary information about how to transfer PF from one company to another in normal case and in case of PF exempted company or PF Trust how transfer take place.

Basic Requirement to Transfer PF
To transfer PF there are few requirement that you need to ensure. All are listed below:
Active UAN Number: Your UAN number need to be active to transfer PF.
KYC: Your basic KYC need to link with your UAN like adhaar, pan and Bank account. If you don’t know how to update KYC Click here.
DOE Update for last company: Your DOE of your last company need to update before applying for transfer of PF.
Active Contact details: Your current working mobile number and email id need to link and active at the time of PF transfer for OTP verification and further communication.
Step by step Guide to Transfer PF in normal case
After ensuring all the above requirement you just need to follow the below flow chart to transfer your PF:
Go to the online services option showing in the top of the Member Home.
Select One Member One EPF account(Transfer Request) from the drop down menu.
A new window will open where some important information is showing like instruction, personal details, employment details etc.
In step 1 you have to select the PF account details which required to be transfer in your Present PF account.
Select the Claim attestation company. It could be your present company or previous its up to you. But prefer attestation through your present employer.
Then insert your UAN number in the Member ID/UAN place and click on get details.
After clicking on get details your previous service history will fetch by system.
Click on the small check box in the left side of the service details and click on get OTP below.
You will receive an OTP in your registered mobile number that need to provide in the OTP section. Then click on submit.
Your transfer request has been successfully submitted. And you may download the online generated FORM 13 for future reference.
Your transfer request will go to the company that you have chosen for attestation. They will approve your transfer request from their employer portal. Then the transfer case will go to the respective filed office of Provident Fund.
Field office will do the rest and within a short period of time say 1 month your previous company’s PF balance will be transferred to your present company’s pf account. You will receive a sms from PF department when your transfer request processed and approved.
Step by step Guide to Transfer PF in case of exempted Company or Trust
PF transfer from non-exempted company to exempted company or exempted to non exempted company is almost similar but you have to keep in mind few points.
Non-exempted company to exempted company or PF Trust
Up to point No-5 every thing is similar as normal PF transfer case.
In next step you have to put your PF number of Trust in the given place. Please note that PF number of the Trust have only 20 numbers where the normal PF number have 22.
In step 1 you have to select the PF account details which required to be transfer in your Present PF account.
Select the Claim attestation company. It must be your present company having its own PF Trust.
Other process is similar as normal case.
Exempted company PF Trust to non exempted company
Up to point No- 6 every thing is similar as normal PF transfer case.
Select the claim attestation company. It must be your previous company having its own PF trust.

Issues with solution regarding PF Transfer
Why PF transfer done online but balance not showing in PF Trust?
Answer: This is in usual problem arise when transfer pf from non- exempted to exempted company or PF Trust. Then the PF member need to submit a grievance at PF Grievance portal asking for Annexure K. Annexure K is a statement that contains all the relevant information of the PF transfer transaction number, service details and all. After submitting grievance at PF Grievance portal you will receive the Annexure K via mail. Submit the Annexure K to your Present company or PF Trust. They will tally the information in their portal and pf transferred amount will reflect in your Trust PF account.
Why PF transfer done online but balance not showing in Present PF account?
Answer: Usually it takes more time to transfer your PF from PF Trust to non-exempted company’s PF account. It may took more than 2 or 3 month. You need to keep patience. Or you may request your previous company or PF Trust to provide you Annexure K and ensure that they have processed your PF Transfer from their end.
Why PF transfer amount showing Zero in EPF claim status while transferring PF from PF Trust to non exempted company?
Answer: It is obvious that your PF was maintained by company’s own PF Trust. So, EPFO doesn’t have your PF amount information. When you ask and received the Annexure K from your Previous Company or PF Trust they will provide it to you and it contains all the required information about your Transfer.
