Online Trade License in Meghalaya in 2022

Now you can apply for Trade License/ Business License in Shillong, Meghalaya right from your home online. Shillong Municipal Board has introduced online system to get your business registered via their official website.

Documentation for Online Trade License in Shillong, Meghalaya

There are some mandatory documents and some optional documents that you required to arrange before applying for Trade License/Business License in Shillong, Meghalaya.

Mandatory Documents

  • Copy of Building Permission or Undertaking/ Lease or Rent Agreement for the Space used for business.
  • Proof of Nationality. For example EPIC( Voter Id), Driving License, Passport.
  • MOA (Memorandum of Associate), Certificate of Registration in case of company or Firm.

Optional Documents

  • Labour License.
  • Property Tax paid receipt from Municipal Corporation.
  • Sales Tax Certificate/ GST Certificate.
  • Income Tax Certificate.
  • Consent to Operate Certificate from Meghalaya Pollution Control Board depending on the type of business.
  • Clearance permission Certificate from state Excise Department.
  • Advertisement
  • Clearance permission Certificate from state Health Department.
  • NOC from Deputy Commissioner of the District.
  • NOC from local Durban.( Headman of the Village)
  • NOC from Landlord if the business space is rented.

Online Trade License in Shillong Application Process

  • Visit the official website of Shillong Municipal Board.
  • Click on Online Services.
  • Click on Business License issued by Municipality.
  • Then you will be landed in Service Plus website.
  • You need to create your Service Plus account simply clicking on Register.

  • Fill the Form by providing some basic information like name, mobile number, email Id and create your password.
  • After successful register you may log in to your Service Plus account using your mail id and password that you have created.
  • Fill the application form simply providing the basic details like establishment name, name of the authorized person and upload Authorized person Passport size photo.
  • In next step you nee to provide address details.
  • Then you have you provide establishment details like address, date of commencement of business, ward no etc.
  • In next step nature of business need to fill, where you have to provide the annual turn over of the business, main category of business, sub category of business.
  • Based on the details provided your Trade license fee would be auto calculated.
  • Click on the tick box and check the details once and click on submit.
  • In next step you have to upload few documents by simply clicking on Attach Annexure.
  • In documents you will be asked to upload Building permission, up to date Municipal tax paid receipt, Address proof and proof of Nationality and save the data.
  • Then click on final submit make your payment.

After successful application online, it will take around 10 to 15 days to grant Trade License or business license by Shillong Municipal Board.

If they find your application valid with all the relevant information and documents, then you will be granted the License. If they required any other relevant documents, you may be asked to visit the Municipal corporation to submit the same.

And after validation of documents your business will be granted the License.
