EPFO Death claim Settlement SOP has been issued by Employees Provident Fund Organization Ahmedabad Regional office in case of Industrial Accident.
The SOP has been issued by the RO, Ahmedabad on 03/08/2022 vide Notification number GJ/AHD/EPF/RPFC-II/SOP/Death due to Industrial Accidents/27.
According to the SOP, it is requested to all establishment to report Industrial death case occurred due to any reason should be reported to EPFO immediately with full particulars of the deceased person on priority basis.
Death claim Settlement SOP: Benefit in case of Death of PF Member
The eligible family member or nominee or legal heir of the deceased provident fund member will receive a number of benefit as per the provision of the EPF and MP Act, 1952. These benefits are thoroughly explained below:
- EPF Accumulation in their EPF account with up to date interest.
- EDLI benefit as per Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976.
- Monthly family pension under EPS, 1995 to widow or widower till their death or re-marriage whichever is earlier.
- Monthly children pension/orphan up to 2 child up to the age of 25 years. After completing the age 25 years the 3rd child will receive the children pension again up to the age of 25 years.
- Physically challenged children will receive pension for the whole life till their survival.
- Nominee will get monthly pension till their survival, in case of deceased member has no family.
- Dependent parents will get life long pension in case of unmarried provident fund member.
Now Death claim settlement in EPFO becomes very easy as the whole system is online. The nominee or legal heir can apply for settlement of death case without much hassle because their is no need to take employer attestation in documents.
The requirement of documents is minimal as with just KYC of the nominee or legal heir and death certificate of the deceased member you can apply for settlement.
