Earlier this notification, Andaman Nikobar Minimum Wages has been revised with effect from 1st July, 2022.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment of Andaman and Nicobar has published its official notification on 29th July, 2022 vide notification number: 16/1/MW/2019-20/LC&DET/709.

Andaman Nikobar Minimum Wages w.e.f 01.01.2022

The Lt. Governor ( Administrator) of Andaman & Nikobar Island has revised the Minimum wages with effect from 01.01.2022 across six schedule of employments in the union territory.

The official notification has been issued on 11th January, 2022 via notification number F. No. 16/1/MW/2019-20/LC&DET/27.

The notification has been published in pursuance of the Previous Notification No: 300/2017/F.No.16/MW2013-14/LC&DET dated 11th December, 2017 when the per day minimum wages was last revised in the six schedule of employment covered under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 in the Union Territory of A&N.

What is Unskilled Work?

Unskilled work means the work which involve simple operations that requires little skill or no skill or experience on the job. Basically in unskilled work no education or technical qualification required.

What is Semi Skilled or Unskilled Supervisory Work?

Semi Skilled work usually required some degree of skill of competence though experience on the job and the semi skilled employee capable of being performed under the supervision or guidance of a skilled employee and include unskilled supervisory workers.

What is Skilled Work?

Skilled work may refer to the work which involves skills or expertise acquired though on the job training or through training received as a apprentice in a technical or vocational institute and the performance of which calls for initiative and judgment.

What is Highly Skilled Work?

Highly Skilled work basically required formal degree whether it technical or some other area or domain obtained from recognized institute or university.

Highly skilled employee must have the ability to perform the task assigned to him like clerical or technical job and he must be able to take full responsibility for the judgment of decisions involved in the execution of these tasks.
