PF Claim Settlement procedure in EPFO is now online. Now Provident Fund Member can apply for Provident Fund, Pension Fund and Provident Fund Advance online via EPFO portal.

Requirement before PF Claim Settlement in EPFO
Before PF claim Settlement, employee or provident fund member required to activate their UAN number first. Member KYC like Aadhar, PAN and bank account mandatorily required to link with the UAN number before availing online services. Aside that, Provident Fund Member required to submit the E-Nomination against their UAN before proceeding for PF claim Settlement. You may click here to know in details how you can submit Nomination in EPFO.
Form 31 Advance claim Settlement
For some specific reason Provident Fund Member can apply for PF Advance in Form 31. Following are the major heads available against which you can apply for Advance with its eligibility.

1 | Illness | You can apply for advance under this head for illness and medical emergency when its arise. You can apply maximum 6 month basic salary or PF eligible salary under this head if balance available in your PF Account under employee’s share. |
2 | Construction of House | You can apply under this head for construction of House. You can apply under this head if continuous contribution was made against your PF Account for a period of five years. You can apply maximum 75% to 80% of the Provident Fund balance you have in your account which does not include fund available in pension. |
3 | Marriage | For the purpose of marriage you can apply for advance under this head if PF was contributed for a period of seven years. You can apply maximum 75% to 80% of the Provident Fund balance you have in your account which does not include fund available in pension. |
4 | Outbreak of Pandemic/ Covid 19 | You can apply under this head Maximum three month PF eligible salary if balance available in your PF Account which does not include fund available in pension. Now claim under this head could be rejected as Pandemic situation is over now in India. |
To apply for provident Fund Advance, you may follow the below flow chart:
- Visit PF unified portal in your mobile/laptop/computer.
- Insert your UAN and password in the given place followed by verify with captcha code and then click on submit. Your UAN home page will open.
- Go to Online Services.
- Select the Option claim Form 31 for Provident Fund Advance claim.
- In next window, system ask to insert and verify your Bank Account number linked with the UAN.
- After successful verification of bank account, you may proceed to advance claim.
- In next window, please select Form 31 from dropdown Menu.
- Then select the reason for Advance claim.
- You may select from the available list like Illness, Construction of House, Marriage as per eligibility condition and requirement you have.
- Mention the required amount in the place given.
- Provide the address and upload the Bank Passbook or cancel cheque. (File Size>500KB in JPEG format)
- Validate with Aadhar OTP and click on submit.
Form 19 PF Final Settlement
If a provident fund member leave his employment and stays unemployed at least two months from his last contribution in provident fund he can apply for provident fund final withdrawal.
To apply for provident Fund final settlement, you may follow the below flow chart:
- Visit PF unified portal in your mobile/laptop/computer.
- Insert your UAN and password in the given place followed by verify with captcha code and then click on submit. Your UAN home page will open.
- Go to Online Services.
- Select the Option claim Form 19 for Provident Fund Final Settlement.
- In next window, system ask to insert and verify your Bank Account number linked with the UAN.
- After successful verification of bank account, you may proceed.
- Select Form 19 from drop down menu.
- Upload Form 15G (if you have more than 50000 in your PF Account)
- Provide the address and upload the Bank Passbook or cancel cheque. (File Size>500KB in JPEG format)
- Validate with Aadhar OTP and click on submit.
Please note before applying for PF Final Settlement if you have not updated your DOE then Form 19 will not going to be available for you to apply. Before applying be ensure that the DOE is updated.
DOE can be updated under Manage> Mark Exit> Select the PF Account Number> Select Date> Select Reason for leaving> Validate the request with Aadhar base OTP and submit.
If you don’t upload fully filled Form 15G at the time of application, TDS will be deducted if the balance amount in your pf account exceed 50000. So, don’t forget to upload Form 15G.
Form 10C Pension Fund Settlement
If the total service period of a provident fund member is more than 3 month and less than 9.6 years then he may apply for Pension settlement under Form 10C.
If the total service period is more than 9.6 years then Pension claim in Form 10C is not applicable. Provident fund member will get monthly pension after his retirement. And he will be required to apply after he cross his pensionable age online in Form 10D to get Monthly Pension from EPFO.
Before applying for pension fund under Form 10C be ensure that the DOE is updated. To apply for Pension Fund settlement, you may follow the below flow chart:
- Visit PF unified portal in your mobile/laptop/computer.
- Insert your UAN and password in the given place followed by verify with captcha code and then click on submit. Your UAN home page will open.
- Go to Online Services.
- Select the Option claim Form 10C for Provident Fund Final Settlement.
- In next window, system ask to insert and verify your Bank Account number linked with the UAN.
- After successful verification of bank account, you may proceed.
- Select Form 19 from drop down menu.
- Provide the address and upload the Bank Passbook or cancel cheque. (File Size>500KB in JPEG format)
- Validate with Aadhar OTP and click on submit.
